We’re looking for content focused on Autumn, Thanksgiving, and the Holidays

Over the next couple of months, many of us in North America will be celebrating the harvest-themed holiday known as Thanksgiving. With this holiday’s warmness, its autumn tones, the abundance of food, and most importantly, the welcome reminder to always be grateful for what you have, Thanksgiving is a truly joyful time of year.

As we look to refresh our harvest, holiday, and general autumn-themed visuals, here are some important dates to remember for this time of year:

Canadian Thanksgiving – Monday, October 12, 2020
American Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 26, 2020
Hanukkah – Thursday, December 10, 2020
Christmas Season – Friday, December 25, 2020

While we encourage you to think outside of the box with your submissions, we also suggest you focus your creative lens on the following topics across various content types (photos, vectors, and video):

  • Consider rich, golden, earthy autumn colors and tones – gold, burnt orange, russet (dark brown), etc. are great selections
  • Marketing materials such as banners, sale posters, and labels are always in demand, but we see a peak in searches leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday
  • Background images featuring autumn leaves, golden colors, and warm, cozy artwork provide an authentic feeling of the season
  • Food and cuisine themes are great too; details like turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, yams, and apple pie are all must-haves
  • Harvest festival themes; visuals that capture the food, togetherness, and autumnal themes of a typical Thanksgiving feast
  • Looking ahead, Christmas and Hanukkah are coming up. Photos and art of family celebrations and winter themes will be a hot commodity very soon!
  • For photos and video, please include models of all ethnicities, ages, body types, genders, and abilities in your submissions. Focus on individuals getting together (while social distancing) with extended family and friends

These visuals convey a feeling of relatability with consideration for realistic scenarios that don’t feel staged or posed.
